COVINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) If you live in Covington, you might have found the police at your door recently.

The police department just finished its community canvas.

Officers visited every home to learn what citizens want from law enforcement, and to establish better communication with people.

"Things the community have wanted from us, we've been doing on a day to day basis," says Covington Chief Anthony Morgan. "So one of the top complaints has been traffic. Speed's an issue apparently citywide. We found out that's been the number one and really number two complaint of all our residents."

Police say they have stepped up traffic enforcement in the city and over the next several months there will be an increased focus on that.
