Firefighters respond to call at Rustburg tire business

RUSTBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Investigators are working to learn the cause of a fire that damaged a business in Campbell County Monday night.

Firefighters were called to Royal Tire & Service on Village Highway in Rustburg shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.

No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured, according to Campbell County Fire Marshal Randall Johnson.

Smoke was seen coming from the building by a passerby who called 911, Johnson said.

The fire was located inside the building and extinguished quickly, according to a statement from Campbell County spokesperson, Sherry Harding. 35 firefighters responded to the call, Harding wrote.

Johnson was unable to provide information about the extent of damage to the building or comment on a possible source of the fire.
