DMV now using postcards for registration renewal notices

The D-M-V is saving thousands of dollars and a visit to the customer care center.

After two successful pilot programs, the DMV will mail post cards as registration renewal notices rather than the full-sized regisration renewel packets.

This move will save the department more than three hundred thousand dollars annually.

These post cards will also help people save a trip to the DMV, encouraging them to renew their registration on-line.

"We want customers to have the best possible experience however they interact with the DMV, online, in person. This post cards goes to customers that are already using DMV dot com to renew vehical registration and take care up to 40 other transactions you can do online," says Brandy Brubaker of the DMV.

Customers will also save a buck, if they use the online route.
