Danville Dollar General robbed at gunpoint

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Danville police are searching for a man who robbed a Dollar General store at gunpoint on Thursday.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. at the South Main Street store.

The clerk told police that a man came into the store pointing a semi-automatic pistol at him. The robber was wearing a bandanna that covered his face.

The robber gave the clerk a black duffel bag with bold white lettering on it and told him to "fill the bag". After the clerk put cash inside, the robber took the bag and ran out the front door.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt.

Police have not arrested anyone.
