DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Old 97 Rail Days is back in Danville this weekend to honor the lives lost in the train crash in 1903.
The Danville Science Center will feature a giant model train display, with multiple trains running through miniature landscapes.
There will also be a miniature version of the Old 97 wreck scene, which happened just a mile from the science center 114 years ago.
"It's a part of the historical fabric of the city of Danville. It's a big event. People, as we know, people love trains, of all ages, so how better to celebrate that with an annual model railroad show?" says Danville Science Center Executive Director, Adam Goebel.
Guests can visit Rail Days on Saturday from 10:00 to 5:00 and Sunday from 11:00 to 2:00.
