Danville citizens invited to decorate Ballou Park for the holidays

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) It may only be October, but Danville is already getting the word out about its Community Holiday Light Show.

Parks and Recreation is calling on everyone to help decorate Ballou Park.

Organizations, businesses, or families can adopt a spot to decorate.
They can do as much, or as little, as they'd like.

City leaders say the show not only spreads holiday cheer, but also raises money for a good cause.

"Each business, or builder, designates a non-profit and if their display wins in the best in show, there's a donation made to their non-profit," says Parks and Recreation Special Events Coordinator, Taylor Aherron.

The holiday light show begins December 9th and runs through Christmas Day.
