Danville man shot while delivering newspaper

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Danville police say a 67-year-old man was shot while delivering the newspaper early Tuesday morning.

It happened on Franklin Street around 2:41 a.m. Police found the victim on Berryman Ave.

The man is hurt but is expected to be OK. He was taken to the Danville Regional Medical Center.

There is no suspect at this time.

A newspaper delivery man was injured in a shooting early this morning.

At approximately 2:41 am this morning units responded to the area of Berryman Ave. for a report of shots fired. While checking the area, they located a 67-year-old man from Dry Fork who reported that his vehicle was shot into while he was delivering newspapers. He was transported to Danville Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Personnel from the Investigative Division and Crime Scene Unit were notified and responded. The investigation is ongoing.
