UPDATE: Danville police identify 15-year-old boy as homicide victim

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7)

UPDATE:
Danville Police have identified the victim of a homicide as a 15-year-old boy.

Sean Clayborne of Danville died Thursday night. Police responded to the 100 block of Piney Forest Road for a report of shots being fired. When they arrived, they discovered Clayborne with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body will be sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke for an autopsy.

Danville police are investigating a murder that happened late Thursday night.

Police responded to the 100 block of Piney Forest Road around 11:25 p.m. for a report of shots fired.

A man with multiple gunshot wounds died at the scene. He has not been identified yet.

The victim's body is being sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke for an autopsy.
