DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7)-- According to Arnold Hendrix, the City of Danville Public Information Officer, crews are working to restore power to 857 customers in the downtown area who have been without power since 2:46 p.m.

Hendrix says these customers are served by a feeder circuit from the Bridge Street substation.

The streets affected the most include Main, Patton, Loyal, Wilson, Monument, Jefferson, Green, Pine, Chestnut, Gove, Ridge, Poplar, Upper, Floyd and High.

Hendrix says crews plan to switch the power load for those customers to the Brantly substation. Crews are expected to take around one or two hours to make that switch.
