Danville's Dairy Queen re-opens after fire

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) In Danville, the blizzards are back just in time for summer.

The Dairy Queen in Danville re-opened Monday almost one year after an electrical fire last summer.

The area supervisor says it's good to be back open and the community agrees.

"Yes, I've been waiting. Every time we drive by I keep thinking when is DQ going to open again," Dairy Queen Customer Carolyn Stearns said.

"Better than what I expected, I tell you what, it was worth the wait and I tell you what the people, the come here are going to love this milkshake," Dairy Queen Customer Carter Davis said.

The new modern design to the building provided more seating inside and out.

The area supervisor says they have been very busy for the first two days and expect that to continue.
