LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) The 2006 American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry and his band will take the stage at Phase 2 in Lynchburg. It is the goal of Lynchburg Concerts, a group of three Liberty University graduates, to enhance the live music scene in the area. "Our goal is to bring a night life experience to Lynchburg and the highest level of entertainment such as Daughtry," said Mark Cloutier of Lynchburg Concerts.

Daughtry has had great success, winning six Billboard Music Awards and selling more than 8 million albums sold. The group has chart topping hits like "Home", "It's Not Over", and "No Surprises".

Organizers say they've received positive feedback about the launch of the concert series and the quality of entertainment. "From the people that have lived here a long time they say this is just what Lynchburg needs. It hasn't had live entertainment in a long time. College students say 'when I first go to Liberty there was nothing to do', now there is a place for them to go," said Cloutier.
