Deputies: Shotgun, cocaine, cash found in Bedford man's home

BEDFORD CO., Va. (WDBJ7) The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested a drug dealer Tuesday.

After executing a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of Grand Arbre Drive in Bedford, investigators say they found $11,670 in cash, about 10 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and a shotgun.

Gerry Staples was arrested on several charges and is being held without bond. He is a two-time convicted felon, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say Staples was the victim of a drive-by shooting in January 2013, which led to four arrests. Investigators say that incident was also drug-related.
