ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) - In Roanoke on Saturday some people worked up a sweat for a good cause!
Lab Sports Performance hosted its first JDRF Dunking for diabetes.
The basketball game raises money for the juvenile diabetes research foundation.
Organizers say they wanted to do something this spring to enhance the lives of local kids.
"We had a few players that are type one diabetics, a few kids and we wanted to do something to make them feel like this was geared toward them," said Bradley Boeji, Facility manager for Lab Sports Performance
They're goal was to raise just $2,500. By the last of their games, they had raised close to $4,000.
