ROANOKE CO., Va. (WDBJ7)-- The Roanoke County Fire and Rescue Department, the Cave Spring Fire Department, Clearbook Fire and Rescue, and Back Creek Fire and Rescue responded to an early morning fire at Pebble Creek Apartments in Roanoke County.
Crews received a report of a fire at the apartment complex at 3345 Circle Brook Drive in Roanoke County just after 5 a.m.
Crews say there was a fire on the outside of a first floor unit. Fire crews were able to clear the entire building and control the fire in about 15 minutes.
According to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue, the fire was contained to the porch, but they say there is smoke damage to the apartment above the fire.
Fire crews say everyone living in the building made it out safely and there were no injuries reported.
Residents were given blankets and have been taken to another area of the apartment complex to stay warm.
The Roanoke County Fire and Rescue says the Pebble Creek Apartment complex does not have automatic fire alarms because it was not a code requirement when the building was built.
Fire crews say damages are estimated to be around $6,000.
