BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Job seekers are getting connected with openings at an event in Bedford Wednesday.

The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual job fair. More than 60 employers are on site with information. Many have job vacancies that need to be filled right away.

Organizers say this year's turnout of companies and non profits with jobs is the largest in the four years they've held the fair.

"Businesses are growing and showing that they are actively hiring, There are great opportunities for individuals who are out there looking for a job at this point in time," said Susan Martin, President and CEO of the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce.

Workshops are also being held to offer resume and interviewing tips.

The job fair runs through 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Central Virginia Community College Bedford campus.
