The Roanoke Police Department is searching for two males after officers say they stole a drink in a local restaurant, assaulted an employee and fled the scene.

Police say around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the call of an assault at a restaurant in the 2000 block of Peters Creek Road.

According to officers, the manager of the business said that two black males, one with tattoos on his arms and legs, came into the restaurant and stole a fountain drink. When the manager confronted the men, they were removed but stayed near the property.

Shortly after, police say one of the two men assaulted a female employee of the restaurant at the bus stop near the building. The woman suffered minor injuries and did not need medical assistance.

The men left the scene prior to police arriving. Police say the men were driving a white or silver Mercury.
