Fire Prevention Parade to close streets downtown Christiansburg on Oct. 3

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) The annual Fire Prevention Parade is taking place on Main Street in downtown Christiansburg on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m.

Attendees will get to view emergency response vehicles from all over the region as they get ready to kickoff Fire Prevention Week, which runs from Oct. 8-14.

The parade will cause some temporary road closures in the area.

Starting at 6 p.m., the staging area will close. The staging area is as follows:
-Roanoke Street, from First to East Main
-East Main Street to Stone Street
-Park Street from East Main to Evans

Fifteen minutes prior to the start of the parade, the rest of the parade route (East Main to Radford to Depot) will close. Please see this map for the specific parade route.
