Fire crews fight early morning house fire in Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Firefighters responded to an early Sunday morning fire in Roanoke, according to the Roaonke Fire-EMS Department.

Firefighters responded to a house in the 100 block of Wildhurst Avenue in Northeast Roanoke just after 4:45 a.m. When crews arrived, they found heavy flames on the second floor.

Two people were inside the home when the fire started. They were able to evacuate the home. Nobody was injured. The American Red Cross is assisting them.

The cause of the fire was electrical and damage is estimated at $50,000.
