MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Fire officials are investigating a house fire at the 300 block of Friendly Church Road in Martinsville.

A call for the fire came in around 12 p.m. and several volunteer fire departments responded.

It took about 45 minutes to put the fire out.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, but officials believe it started in the basement.

"When we arrived there was a fire in the basement, we were advised there was a wood stove in the basement. We don't know if it is connected at this time. But it appears it might have started by the woodstove," said Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Chief Charlie Bradshaw.

Noone was injured.
