Former Salem Red Sox infielder Yoan Moncada has been named Baseball America's Minor League Player of the Year.
The 21-year-old switch-hitter cranked out 15 homers between his time in Salem and Double-A Portland, hitting .294. He also stole 45 bases.
Moncada signed last year for $31.5 million and was named the MVP of the Futures game back in July.
The top prospect in baseball was called up to the big leagues with Boston just over two weeks ago.
