Four arrested in Radford methamphetamine lab bust

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Four people were arrested Tuesday after police say they found a methamphetamine lab in a home. Children were also present.

Jimmy Walker, 50; Michelle Wheeling, 33; April Wheeling, 28; and James Wheeling, 53; were all arrested and face several methamphetamine-related charges. Jimmy Walker and Michelle Wheeling are also charged with felony child endangerment.

All four are being held in the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.

Here is the news release from the Radford Police Department:

On 19 April 2016, Radford City Police Officers were conducting a narcotics investigation that led them to a residence in the 2600 block of Second Street. A methamphetamine production lab was located during the execution of a search warrant.

Methamphetamine, along with precursor chemicals and production equipment, was located and seized. Children were also located in the residence and were removed and taken into the custody of Radford City Department of Social Services. Radford City Building Officials are in the process of condemning the residence. Assistance was provided on scene by personnel from the Virginia State Police Drug Task Force, Radford City Fire Department, and Radford Emergency Medical Services.

The following four arrests were made: Jimmy Lynn Walker of Radford, age 50 and pictured above, was charged with five (5) felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine (§ 18.2-248 18.2-250, and 18.2- 256, three (3) felony counts of allowing children to be present during methamphetamine production (§ 18.2-248.02), and three (3) felony counts of child endangerment (§ 40.1-103);

Michelle Leigh Wheeling of Radford, age 33 and pictured above, was charged with four (4) felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine (§ 18.2-248 and 18.2- 256), three (3) felony counts of allowing children to be present during methamphetamine production (§ 18.2-248.02), and three (3) felony counts of child endangerment (§ 40.1-103);

April Lynn Wheeling of Radford, age 28 and pictured above, was charged with four (4) felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine (§18.2-248 and 18.2-256);
James Lee Wheeling of Radford, age 53 and pictured above, was charged with four (4) felony warrants related to the possession and production of methamphetamine (§18.2-248 and 18.2-256).
All four persons are in the custody of New River Valley Regional Jail and being held without bond. The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information to release at this time.
