Glasgow acts to get rid of derelict buildings

GLASGOW, Va. (WDBJ7) In Glasgow, town officials have taken action against some longtime eyesores.

The town has notified the owners of around a dozen properties that they need to come up with a plan for the run down and neglected buildings, or the town will do something about them.

“Unless they accept any of the improvement reports that people have submitted, which I have got one unless the town attorney has gotten some, I'll be surprised if there's any out there," says Glasgow Town Manager Bill Rolfe, "We're going to be getting in the property removal business of some homes and structures."

Town Council meets Tuesday to take the next step.
