Harlem Wizards take on Montgomery County Mortals during Friday night game

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Christiansburg teachers, students, and administrators are teaming together to become Mortals Friday night as they take on the Harlem Wizards.

The game starts at 7 p.m. Friday night at Christianburg High School. Doors open an hour earlier. Montgomery County Superintendent Mark Miear will lead the team of people with varying experience levels on the court in the CHS gym.

It’s hosted by the Montgomery County Educational Foundation and all ticket sales and donations support the group’s grant program which awards education grants to school district educators and Parent Teacher Organizations.

In a news release MCEF says, “The “Wizards vs. Mortals” game will offer a fun-­packed two hours of family time where parents, grandparents and kids of all ages can laugh together. The Harlem Wizards are known to utilize their unique mission to “create awe-­inspiring events throughout the country” as they entertain fans with amazing basketball talent combined with hilarious comedy.”

Tickets start at $12 at the door.
