LYNCHBURG, VA There was a battle of unbeatens Friday night at Lynchburg's City Stadium as Heritage and E.C. Glass renewed their Jug Bowl rivalry.
The Pioneers had won the little brown jug for 8 straight years.
Elijah Davis was out to help his team keep it that way. Davis got the early carry and he was on a mission, busting loose for 20 big yards and Heritage was on the move.
Carrington Anderson then looked downfield but he had his pass picked off by DreSean Kendrick.
But Glass gave it right back as Matthew MacCallum got intercepted by Adrian Watson for Heritage.
Anderson finally got untracked. He made something out of nothing on the broken play. He had the fancy footwork to tiptoe along the sideline and into the endzone.
Then with seconds left in the half, MacCallum dropped a huge pass into the hands of Trevel Alexander, who just had to step into the end zone.
EC Glass came out on top of a close one over Heritage, 14-12.
