ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The winter temperatures did not prevent hundreds of people from coming out to the annual City of Roanoke Christmas Parade.
School bands and ROTC units walked in the parade waving to fans and a lot of people showed up early to grab a spot along Jefferson Street in downtown Roanoke.
"It makes me feel good to be out here with my family and having fun", said Canyon King, a parade attendee.
The parade is part of Roanoke's Dickens of a Christmas events. Next Friday will feature a pet costume contest.
