LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- The Lynchburg Fire Department is gearing up to decorate your Christmas tree this year.

They are selling tree ornaments to benefit the Lynchburg Fire Department Museum.

Fire officials say the department is working to maintain the upkeep of the museum, which is located in the Lynchburg Museum on Court St. “The money will help benefit that museum and be able to refurbish some of the old relics that we have and some of the antique equipment that need refurbishment and need to be properly maintained for years to come,” said Deputy Chief Greg Wormser.

This year's ornament features an old LFD patch and will cost $10 a piece. Ornaments can also be personalized.

The department hopes to one day be able to fund their own museum to feature all their old relics and fire apparatuses.
