LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) Lexington Main Street got $50,000 in grant money from the state and city to promote new local business.

The Community Business Launch Grant funds a 6 to 8 week beginning business training seminar, followed by a pitch competition with cash awards for the businesses showing the most merit.

"In reality, there are a lot more than just the actual winner," explains Noah Simon, Lexington's City Manager. "There are these other businesses that win, all the folks that have gone through it, all the folks that have participated in this process, regardless of the side of the fence. Everybidy wins in that sense."
