LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) In Lexington, the folks at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital wanted to give a special thanks to law enforcement.

So they threw them a lunch. Police, sheriffs deputies and other law enforcement were welcomed for hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the fixings at the hospital today.

"They spend a lot of time here, you know, in the evenings, at nights, with accidents and arrests, and whatever brings them here," says Chuck Carr, Vice President of Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital. "So we've formed a lot of close relationships with police officers, and again just wanted to do something to recognize them."

This is the second year the hospital has organized the lunch.
