LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) The Lime Kiln Theater in Lexington is preparing for their another season this weekend with some big changes.
The last few months, leaders and volunteers built a new roof for their VIP & sponsor section. They're also installing new lights and a new sound system.
"The fact that it shut down in 2012 and we didn't have it for the first time in a lot of years I think opened peoples eyes to how important this place really was," said Spencer McElroy, who is the executive director. "It's really a gem to Lexington. Something that distinguishes us from other communities and that absence has really opened peoples eyes.
The first show of the season starts Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
