UPDATE: State police identify woman who died in crash on Route 460 in Bedford County

GOODE, Va. (WDBJ7) The woman who died in an accident on Route 460 on Thursday morning has been identified by Virginia State Police.

Troopers say Susan Myers of Brookneal crashed her 2014 Kia Soul into the back of a logging truck around 8:30 a.m. Thursday on Route 460, just east of Owens Market in Goode.

Myers was 56. She was wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

The driver of the Kenworth tractor-trailer, 69-year-old Robert Perry of Madison Heights, has been charged with making an improper turn. He was wearing a seatbelt and wasn't hurt.

The crash is under investigation.

The Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team and the Virginia State Police Motor Carrier Unit were called to assist with the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

UPDATE

A woman has died after crashing into the back of a logging truck on Route 460 in Goode.

Both westbound lanes of Route 460 are closed near Owens Market and Truck Plaza. The accident happened around 8:30 a.m.

According to Virginia State Police, the woman ran into the back of the logging truck as the logging truck tried pulling into the crossover lane.

Her family has not been notified.

A detour has been established onto Route 811, onto Route 221, onto Independence Boulevard and back onto Route 460.

Virginia State Police are on scene.

Goode is between Bedford and Forest.

A logging truck and a car collided on Route 460 in Bedford County on Thursday morning.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. near Owens Market and Truck Plaza, which is in Goode, Virginia. Goode is between Bedford and Forest.

Both westbound lanes are blocked. Traffic is backed up two miles, as of 9 a.m.

Emergency crews are on the scene.
