Lynchburg Police investigating home invasion

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) In Lynchburg, police say they’re investigating a home invasion.

Officers say they responded to a home around 11 p.m. Friday in the 2600 Block of Anthony Place, and when they arrived, they spoke with residents who told them an unknown black man forced his way into their home with a firearm.

Police say the residents reported a brief confrontation before the man ran away.

That suspect is described as a black man in his mid-20’s, about 6’2”, 180-200 lbs., unshaven, and was seen wearing a dark hoodie, stocking cap, and boots.

Police believe this is an isolated incident, and there doesn’t appear to be any danger to the public.

It remains under investigation by their Criminal Investigations Division.
