Lynchburg day care employee arrested for allegedly abusing child

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A Lynchburg woman arrested for allegedly abusing a child at a day care center, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

On Feb. 3, officers took a report of child abuse that allegedly occurred at the Caterpillar Clubhouse in Lynchburg after a mother noticed an apparent injury to her child’s face. A staff member was arrested for the abuse of a child.

Asia Mays, 22, of Lynchburg was charged with cruelty and injuries to children. She has been transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
