Lynchburg make arrest in October armed robbery of Food Zone

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Lynchburg police just made an arrest in an armed robbery that happened in October.

35-year-old Lynchburg resident Shannon Marie Long is charged with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. She was arrested on Tuesday.

The Food Zone on Rivermont Ave. was robbed on October 23. Someone wearing an oversized hoodie demanded money. The person's face was covered by clinching up the hood.

Police were originally looking for a light-skinned black male based on a witness description. It is not clear what led them to Long.

Long is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
