LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Organizers are preparing for a Kwanzaa celebration on Friday.
The Legacy Museum is partnering with the Lynchburg Parks and Rec to host the event at the Miller Center from 2 to 4 p.m.
It is a celebration of African American culture, heritage, unity, and traditional values.
Organizers say they hope to see a lot of young folks come out. ”Young people need to get in touch with their culture and their heritage. I think sometimes we get so caught up with our daily lives that we don’t talk about the importance of family values and pulling together and working together," said Legacy Museum Board Member, Ramona Battle.
The event is free and open to the public.
