SecurityChoice.com has named the City of Lynchburg one of the top 100 safest cities in the country to retire in 2018.
The website states that 495 cities were evaluated on several safety and retirement-focused factors including "FBI City Crime Data, percentage of residents that are of retirement age, healthcare costs, and elder abuse protection laws."
Out of 100 locations, Lynchburg placed 88. Three other Virginia locations placed in the top 100 including Staunton, Waynesboro, and Harrisonburg.
