LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Lynchburg police are investigating a death that appears to be accidental in nature, according to a statement from the department.

Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Madison Street just after noon Sunday. When they arrived officers say they found a man lying unresponsive in a back yard of the property.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates Leroy Preston Jordan, 67, fell from a roof. Police say they believe the injuries Jordan suffered from the fall led to his death.

Jordan was a resident of Spout Spring. His body has been sent to the medical examiner's office in Roanoke for an autopsy.
