UPDATE: Lynchburg police investigate shots fired call on Alleghany Avenue

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) UPDATE:

As Lynchburg continues to investigate a shot fired in the 500 block of Alleghany Avenue Thursday afternoon, witnesses say two males were shooting at each other in the parking lot of the barber shop.

One was described as a black male wearing a black hoodie and the other being a black male driving a grey sedan.

After the shooting, one of the men fled on foot and the other in the grey sedan.

Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene where three vehicles and two businesses were struck. No injuries have been reported.

A shots fired call led to a large police presence along Alleghany Avenue Thursday afternoon.

Officers with the Lynchburg Police Department say they were called to a business in the 500 block of Alleghany Avenue around 1:30 Thursday, after receiving reports of gunshots fired into a vehicle.

Police say several gunshots hit a car, but no one was hit or injured.

Witnesses in a nearby barber shop told WDBJ7 they heard several gunshots outside the business.

Police have not made any arrests.
