Lynchburg police make arrest in shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Lynchburg police have made one arrest after two men fired shots into an occupied vehicle.

The incident happened around 9:05 p.m. on January 18 at the intersection of 15th Street and Fillmore Street. Officers found broken glass in the road when they arrived.

The three victims told police they were sitting inside a parked vehicle when a group of men approached their vehicle. Two of them started firing shots. No one was hurt.

Devon Rashard Christian McCoy, a 25-year-old Lynchburg resident, is accused of being involved.

McCoy was arrested on Tuesday, February 21. He is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, three counts of attempted malicious wounding, and reckless handling of a firearm.

No one else has been charged yet.
