Lynchburg to host public meetings ahead of Main Street Bridge demolition

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) In just a few weeks demolition of Lynchburg's Main Street Bridge will begin. Before they start the major project, they will be holding two public meetings.

If someone regularly uses the bridge to get to work downtown, project leaders ask that you attend a meeting and let them know.

Businesses directly impacted, like Accents Flags and Gifts on the other side of the bridge, want their customers to go to the meetings and be informed of detours.

"Ask your questions, you get answers, and it's just a great time to support each other through this whole ordeal we're going to be facing," said Deborah Keeling, Owner of Accents, Flags and Gifts.

Those meetings will take place on October 30th, 6:00 p.m. at the Hutcherson Early Learning Center and November 1st, 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber.
