Main Street Lexington to have community forum

LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ) There will be a community forum in Lexington Thursday morning.

It’s a chance to tell people what’s going on downtown and plans for the future, as well as gather feedback and ideas from the public.

The Main Street Lexington organization says they want to make downtown Lexington a hub of innovation and technology, a place to live in over store apartments, and a destination for travelers.

“The whole idea about a Main Street community is about economic revitalization in the context of historic preservation. So it’s about making sure that the place looks great, and is economically viable, and is a really fun place to be. All those three things together are sort of the magic formula,” Stephanie Wilkinson from Main Street Lexington said.

The meeting is Thursday morning at 8 am at Sheridan’s Livery on Henry Street and – of course – Main Street in Lexington.
