Man arrested after refusing to come out of home as officers serve warrant

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) Lynchburg Police have been out on Pawnee Drive since about 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

They were looking to serve an arrest warrant for Zachery Sprouse.

Sprouse had a warrant out of Lynchburg and another warrant out of Campbell County. When police got to his location, Sprouse would not cooperate.

At about 4:00 p.m., the negotiations and tactical units were called out and barricaded the area.

Just before 8:00 p.m., the scene was cleared and Sprouse was taken to Blue Ridge Regional Jail. He is being held on failure to appear in court and revocation of suspended license and probation.

Nobody was harmed during the incident.
