Man charged for breaking and entering residence in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7)— According to the Lynchburg Police Department, Kathenge Ndinga Muindi, 24, of Campbell County has been arrested for assaulting a woman after breaking and entering her residence in Lynchburg Thursday at 4:37 p.m.

Police said Muindi broke into a woman's residence, assaulted her, and displayed a firearm. Before police arrived to the scene, Muindi ran away.

Lynchburg police later found Muindi at his residence in the 900 block of Whitestone Drive.

According to police, Muindi has been charged with breaking and entering, forcible sodomy, property damage, stalking, assault and battery, and brandishing a firearm.

Muindi is currently being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond.

The Lynchburg Police Department is still investigating.
