MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) WDBJ7 sat down with the new interim Martinsville City Schools superintendent.

After a closed session last night, the school board accepted superintendent Pam Health's retirement.

Patrick Henry Elementary School Principal Zeb Talley Jr. will now take on both roles.

Talley says his goal is to get every school in Martinsville accredited.

Right now, none of the city school's are fully accredited with the state standards.

"It is what we are challenged to do now. People talk about the positives and negatives of SOL's but never the less at this state in the game this is what we are judged by," Talley said.

The school board will be conducting a nationwide search for a new superintendent starting immediately.
