MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) If you live in the Martinsville area and want to donate bottled water to help the Harvey victims, listen up.

The police department on Church Street is now serving as a water-drop off spot.

They are filling these trailers full of cases of water.

They just started taking donations Wednesday morning and they've already had more than 11,000 bottles donated as of Wednesday night.

"The citizens of this community have said that they desire to help so we're just going to help facilitate that working through God's Pit Crew out of Danville," says Martinsville Deputy Police Chief, Robert Fincher.

There are also several locations to drop off water in Danville as well.

You can go directly to God's Pit Crew, the YMCA or Averett University.
