Martinsville man arrested after shooting at occupied vehicle

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Martinsville Police arrested a man after he shot at an occupied vehicle Thursday morning.

Around 9:35 a.m., police responded to a situation in the 400 block of First Street. After investigating, police determined that two men were involved in a domestic dispute.

The suspect saw the victim in a car and began shooting into the vehicle. The vehicle was hit. Apparently, multiple rounds were fired but no one was injured.

Rontickous Holland, the suspect, was found inside a home in the 400 block of First Street and was taken into custody without incident.

Holland, 31, of Martinsville was charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, brandishing a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm and shooting in a public place.

This is an ongoing investigation.
