MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) A Martinsville man is facing several charges following a police chase early Monday morning.
The incident began around 12:20 a.m. Monday when a Henry County deputy tried to pull over James Barrow.
Investigators say Barrow refused to pull over, until Barrow lost control of his vehicle on Oak Street and hit an electric pole. Barrow tried driving away from the accident and nearly hit a deputy and an officer, according to police. He also hit an unoccupied Martinsville Police Department vehicle.
Barrow was arrested after struggling with officers.
He is charged with felony eluding law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended sentence. Charges of felony assault on law enforcement by a motor vehicle is pending.
