Martinsville man hit twice on motorcycle, died at scene

HENRY CO., Va. (WDBJ7) Virginia State Police say they have "recovered the suspect vehicle and has identified its driver."

ORIGINAL STORY

A Martinsville man driving a motorcycle died Saturday after being hit by two vehicles according to Virginia State Police. Police are investigating this fatal hit-and-run crash.

Jeffery Hairston, 58, was driving north on his Suzuki M109R motorcycle along Route 220 in Henry County around 11:38 p.m. when he was hit by a white sedan. After being hit, Hairston was in the roadway and was hit again by a 2007 Mazda CX-7. Hairston was wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

The white sedan should be missing part of the left front bumper cover on the driver's side from the hit. Police are looking for any information about this vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
