Martinsville police investigating homicide

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) - A 34 year old man is dead and another man is facing charges after a homicide in Martinsville early Saturday morning.

Martinsville Police say they responded to the Valero station at 1105 Brookdale Road at 12:17am after hearing reports of a fight in process. When officers arrived, they found Tyrone A. Herndon at the scene with a gunshot injury. Herndon was taken to SOVAH Hospital in Martinsville where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have warrants out for Terrell Kiwon Martin of Martinsville. He is charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, reckless handling of a firearm and using a firearm in the city.

Martin is 24 years old, 6’0” and 140 pounds. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
