MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Technology is helping students at a Martinsville prep school.

Thanks to a donation from the Garrett Family, Carlisle School now has a new technology center.

Head of School Tommy Hudgins says the first step was to bring broadband to the campus.

Now, every student grade 4th to 12th has a laptop.

The technology center has smart boards which gives students the ability to write on the walls.

"All of the furniture in the room is movable. Our hope is that classrooms will connect with classrooms all over the world," Head of School Tommy Hudgins said.

Hudgins says he tells the parents, the use of this room is limited only by the limits of the imagination of the teachers and the students.

He says this is future of education.
