Minor explosion at Radford Army Ammunition Plant under investigation

RADFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Radford Army Ammunition Plant employees are looking into what caused an explosion in the production area.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

A fire that resulted from the explosion was put out by the Radford Army Ammunition Plant Fire Department, assisted by the Fair Lawn Volunteer Fire Department.

No one was hurt.

We're told the accident was associated with production work.

The plant said safety of employees remains a No. 1 priority.
